The School of Medicine and Health Management at Tongji Medical College Huazhong University of Science and Technology was established in 2001, combining previous departments. The Department of Health Toxicology, a key discipline in occupational and environmental health, has seven faculty members, including three professors, two associate professors, and two technicians. The department has edited textbooks for undergraduates and was approved as the Research Center for Pesticide Toxicology in 1997. Forensic medicine is a promising subject that can bridge natural science and social science. The Department of Forensic Medicine at Tongji Medical College, one of the first six departments in China, was founded in 1985 and has been approved by the Ministry of Education, Justice, and Health. The department recruits undergraduate and graduate students and offers on-the-job training to forensic experts for the Supreme People's Court and the Supreme People's Procuratorate. The four-year All-English Nursing program aims to equip students with adequate English aptitude, an international horizon, a solid professional foundation, and clinical operating skills. Graduates will be competent to work in higher education institutions or large provincial hospitals, focusing on cultivating top talents specializing in modern nursing in line with international standards. Students will spend their first year learning English, followed by working on medical courses for the second to fourth year. All basic medical courses and clinical internships are taught in English.

The Institute of Reproductive Health (IRH) was established in 1979 as the first institute to combine research, teaching, and clinical work in China. It is a core member of the National Key Discipline of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the National Clinical Research Center on the Diseases of Obstetrics and Gynecology. IRH has national-level platforms such as the National-Local Joint Engineering Laboratory for New Technology in Contraception and Birth Control and the National Clinical Trial Center for Reproductive Health and Infertility Drugs. Huazhong University of Science and Technology began enrolling international students in its Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) program in Clinical Medicine in 2017. Established in 1981, it is the only licensed "geriatric hospital" in Hubei Province. In 1997, it was merged into Tongji Medical University, becoming the Third Affiliated Hospital and the Third Clinical College of Tongji Medical University.
